About The Organization:
Bright Future & Welfare Organization (BFWO) is a Kabul based non-government (NGO), not-for-profit (NPO), independent, civil society organization (CSO) founded by a group of dedicated public health, curative medicine, education, and management experts. It is registered with the Ministry of Economy of Afghanistan under license number 5379, which follows the NGO and other applicable laws of the country, the approved Article of Association (AoA), and donors guidelines. BFWO is an Afghan NGO that operates in the health and education sectors to serve community health promotion, managing and responding to the emerging health crises, public health safety, literacy, and education across Afghanistan. The NGO also works for the development and relief of marginalized communities to achieve social and economic prosperity and improve humanitarian and social capital through delivering health & social, educational & livelihood services, especially to the vulnerable and marginalized societies and communities of Afghanistan.
Objective:
The main purpose of this post is to develop content (in Pashto, Dari, & English languages) for the website and other digital media/platforms, including promotional materials. The incumbent will work as a member of the team to implement the communications strategy of BFWO and undertake other communications, public relations and social media management activities as per annual plans and NGO requirement.
Job Description:
Major Responsibilities:
- Creating and developing content for the website, social media, different digital platforms, and other promotional materials in Pashto, Dari, and English languages.
- Maintain BFWO’s website and social media accounts in three languages.
- Manage the organization’s presence on social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and other similar community sites, posting on relevant blogs, and seeding content into social applications as needed.
- Provide a weekly summary of analytics of our social media platforms and regularly share insights and analytics gained from social media monitoring with the team.
- Create and develop podcast for BFWO.
- Provide a monthly report on the BFWO’s media presence, trends, opportunities and challenges.
- Explore & experiment with alternative channels to disseminate BFWO’s message and showcase its work.
- Coordinate and organize events and press conferences, write press release and coordinate with the related media.
- Create and produce small multimedia productions to increase audience.
- Act as photographer for the events and conferences.
- Adapt the BFWO’s media strategy in a timely fashion to ensure relevance.
- Draft media materials, including press releases, statements, quotes and briefing documents ensuring accuracy, appropriate sign off and placement.
- Ensure that key messages are accurately and consistently expressed in relevant media.
- Manage and coordinate BFWO’s relationships with media partners (TV channels, newspapers, radios, printing and digital media, and other online platforms.
- Manage and coordinate BFWO’s relationships with media vendors, video and photographers, newspaper, scriptwriters, producers, and other related sources.
- Implement media activity across projects and events.
- Inspire and empower colleagues to use online tools and engage actively online.
- Serve as contact person for the BFWO’s appearance, printing, publishing, and digital content.
- Monitor and analyze related media outlets.
- Prepare related reports; design other printing documents as required.
- Any other duty assigned by the line manager.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, international relations, international development or other related disciplines.
- Ability to use Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, CorelDraw, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Audition, and other graphic packages.
- Ability to professionally use Ms. Word, Ms. PowerPoint, and Ms. Publisher for designing purposes.
- Minimum 3 years of proven previous work experience in a similar role.
- Have a high comfort level with social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.
- Excellent proven skills in content development in Pashto, Dari, and English.
- Excellent communication skills (written & verbal), organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Display a high level of attention to detail while being able to work well under pressure.
- Have valid contact in traditional and new media.
- Ability to work well with senior management, colleagues, and the public.
- Ability to travel to the provinces to take photos of the field operations (occasionally).
