A Glance On The Services Of Mobile Health And Nutrition Teams At Kunduz Province In Hard-to-reach Areas | 2024-05-20 14:43:11 | Project Teams

Bright Future and Welfare Organization’s Mobile Health and Nutrition Team (MHNT) at Kunduz province are traveling along the challenging route in order to provide health and nutrition (H&N) services to the marginalized people of the selected white areas, where no health facility and/or center exists nearby. They cross the Amu River to reach to these areas and render their services in Torpi, Aqlan, Se Borj, Bete Keshan, Bete Keshan Arabiya and Qarawal forests in Imam Sahib district of Kunduz province.

On daily basis, this team provides H&N services for more than 300 people of different segments of the society, which includes treatment cases of malnutrition of children and pregnant and lactating mothers, adapting the necessary vaccines, psychological counseling, anti-natal and post-natal care (ANC & PNC), outpatient department (OPD), treating cases of Cholera and Tuberculosis, followed by the health education for the adolescents, women, and children to increasing their awareness.

These areas are the remotest extents of Imam Sahib district. i.e. the Torpi forest, where MHNT “B” deliver their services initially reaches to Amu river by car, then they cross the river by boats, which is followed an hour walk to reach to their duty station in Torpi.

It is worth mention that this team covers 12 areas on both sides of the Amu river in Imam Sahib district, in which five females (a midwives, a nutrition counselor, a psychosocial counselor, a vaccinator, and a community promoters) are working as team member and providing health services for women and children.
